Day that will always be remembered

September 11, 2001.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. Mr. Bashkin (my history teacher) showed us a slideshow today in history class. Some of the pictures I have seen but some I had not. It is still eerie to see those pictures and all the loved ones that were lost. I still remember I was in Mrs. Maxwell's 8th grade english class when it happened. We were watching some movie and everyone noticed the teachers pacing up and down the halls. I will always remember that. It will be interesting in 30-40 years to see what history teachers will say about it. Thank you Nathan, and all the other soldiers out there still fighting for our safety. God Bless You.

School has Begun

School started today for me and Amy. I woke up bright and early at 6:45 to get ready for school. I even made frozen waffles for breakfast. Then it was off to Sociology class at 8 am. I get there and an administrator informed all of us barely awake that our teacher was on VACATION. Hello! Vacation is over, school has begun. I was so upset that I got there for nothing. Well I drove back home and slept until time for American History 1. I rode with Amy since she has Biology at 10:30 also. That class was easy. Well I am at home sitting and watching General Hospital until time to go back to school at 5 for Biology 2. Have a good day!

Summer Olympics Begin

Yay!!! They are finally here. I LOVE the summer olympics. Tonight is the opening ceremony starting at 7:30 pm on NBC. The full schedule is right here. I love to watch the gymnastics and of course, swimming. Go Dara Torres. She is 41 and still swimming! Impressive. I will be sure to watch her and my personal favorite, Michael Phelps. :)

In other news, Amy finally got a facebook, so maybe we can get her to blog. yeah right. haha.

School starts in two weeks. I'm ready to go back. I'm looking forward to finishing up. I'm really excited about my classes. I have introduction to sociology, biology 2, american history, and major american writers.

Randy Pausch

Hello everyone.
I was at work surfing the internet, I mean working very hard. :) I saw a headline for Randy Pausch. Now I had no idea who this man was but wow, he is incredible. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about two years ago. He has three children. He wrote a book called the Last Lecture. There was a Primetime special with Diane Sawyer back in April with him but I never saw it. I just watched the special in five parts on youtube.com Just go and search his name. I am starting to watch his last lecture which is "Acheiving your Childhood Dreams." It really is amazing. Sadly, he died on July 25, 2008. If you have time in your busy day, you really should watch it.

Weekend

Hello everyone
Sorry it has taken so long to update. Thursday night at midnight(or I guess Friday morning at midnight), Atley and I went and saw Stepbrothers with Will Ferrell. It was so funny. I would go and see it again. On Saturday, me, Matthew, and my mom went and saw my grandma and grandaddy for his birthday. We went to Captain's Bay in Waynesville. It was good food except it took forever to get our food. That's about all right now that has happened.

The other day Atley and I bought a book of useless information and I thought I would share a couple facts with you.

1) Coca-Cola was originally green.
2) An official baseball has 108 stitches.
3) Tom Hanks is related to Abraham Lincoln.
